In the event of an error, the LCD's backlight changes to red and shows a clear, simple message on how to fix the problem in the respective language of the user. This makes the printer much easier for cashiers to operate. The soft-close system prevents the top cover from slamming shut, both for courtesy and to prevent injuries whilst replacing the paper roll. The self retracting cutter translates into a high level of service friendliness. In the event of a cutter jam, all one has to do is lift the lever for the paper cover. The cutter self retracts automatically and no assistance is needed from a service technician. The cash register can be put back into operation once again without further delay. No tools are needed to replace either the cutter or the thermal head. Thanks to an innovative snap-in system from Citizen, these modules can be removed and replaced once again by simply lifting two levers. Interfacing options on the CT-S800 series are wide and varied with RS232C Serial, Parallel, Standard USB, USB with Hub, Ethernet and even Powered USB.
